The Women’s Medical Respite shares exciting news about hiring their first Executive Director, Abigail Cool. The Women’s Medical Respite is a Springfield nonprofit founded in 2015 as a no-cost shelter serving homeless women following an acute medical need. The Executive Director position was established in response to the need for growth. Abigail answered the call in June 2022 after graduating from Drury University with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral and community health. She has been very busy making community connections and the setting the early stages of strategic planning to enable the Women’s Medical Respite to expand services to additional ladies.
