From Springfield to the World: Vital Farms Builds on Success at SGF Facility, Expands into Indiana
  
The new facility, opening in 2027, leverages the success of Springfield's Egg Central Station, supports family farmers, creates new jobs, and is a critical part of the company's goal to achieve at least $1 billion in annual net revenue by 2027.

Springfield, MO – Vital Farms (Nasdaq: VITL), a Certified B Corporation offering a range of ethically produced foods nationwide, is excited to announce the expansion of its resilient supply chain with a second world-class egg washing and packing facility in Seymour, Indiana. The 72-acre future home of Egg Central Station (ECS) Seymour follows the award-winning success of the brand’s first facility in Springfield, Missouri. The new facility enables Vital Farms to continue growing its pasture-raised egg business, create 150+ jobs for the Seymour community in its first phase, and will help generate over $350 million in additional revenue for the company, pushing Vital Farms closer to their 2027 target of $1 billion in company revenue.

Egg Central Station Seymour builds on foundational key learnings and successes from Springfield's ECS. The Springfield plant, which opened in 2017, is Vital Farms' flagship egg washing and packing facility. ECS Springfield expanded in 2022 and achieved LEED® Gold Certification in 2024. The new Seymour facility will incorporate similar environmental stewardship goals into its site plans, along with a flow-through design to enhance safety and efficiency. Like the Springfield plant, ECS Seymour will employ industry-leading automation for processing equipment to improve production efficiency and quality, and a world-class crew to bring the new facility to life.

Putting down roots in Seymour for Vital Farms’ second facility allows the brand to continue to expand its strong network of more than 300 family farms and to support new farm development within a day’s drive of ECS Seymour. In its first phase, Vital Farms expects this new facility will support approximately 165 family farmers producing the leading U.S. brand of pasture-raised eggs by retail dollar sales. 

Vital Farms plans to break ground on ECS Seymour by mid-2025, and the company expects the new plant to be fully operational by the beginning of 2027.
