Virtual Bowl for Kids' Sake: Family Challenge!

4/8/2020

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (April 3, 2020) –Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks (BBBSO) is holding “Virtual Bowl for Kids’ Sake: Family Challenge!”, starting April 10, 2020 and ending on April 16, 2020, found on www.bigbro.com.

BBBSO created Virtual Bowl for Kids Sake: Family Challenge as an affordable opportunity for local families to have a little competitive fun while helping children in the Ozarks. This event is also our effort to bridge the financial gap caused by the postponement our premiere fundraising event, Taste of the Ozarks, as it is responsible for nearly 50 percent of our annual event income. At only seven dollars per bowling session, this is a great way for the community to unite while social distancing.

How to participate: Each team registration receives four individual bowling games (teams of four) per session at only seven dollars. There is no limit on the number of registrations per family. Prizes will be awarded to the top seven high-scoring teams as well as the team with the most creative name. Teams are encouraged to share their bowling score on social media and challenge other families. For each family referral, designated by the referee family on the registration form, teams will receive one into a drawing for four tickets to a Springfield Cardinals game (game date decided by winner) with four Cardinals hats to wear to the game!

BBBSO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and United Way partner agency that believes that every child can succeed and even thrive in life. Most children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters are in single-parent and low-income families or households where a parent is incarcerated. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters supports life changing friendships between professionally screened adult volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles). Big Brothers Big Sisters provides a system of ongoing evaluation and support, which independent studies prove helps Littles perform better in school, avoid risky behaviors, and grow up to be productive, engaged citizens.
