Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Springfield (CCCS) is a local agency with over 50 years of experience working with those in the community who are struggling with debt. We have offices in Springfield, Joplin and West Plains. CCCS serves all of Southern Missouri. Our Counselors go through a testing and certification process by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, (NFCC) and/or HUD for Certified Housing Counseling. We provide one on one counseling for those who have credit card debt, medical bills, collection notices, student loan debt and other types of installment debt. In addition, we also provide certified HUD counseling services for Homebuyer education and pre-foreclosure counseling. As an approved agency by the Department of Justice, we provide pre-bankruptcy counseling and post-bankruptcy education to our clients. We provide budgeting and financial educational workshops for other organizations, schools and non-profit agencies.

Financial counseling is the cornerstone of our agency. The American Payroll Association reports 74% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. When a financial crisis like COVID-19 hits, people come to us for additional education, counseling, tools and planning resources. Our debt management plan provides an avenue for clients suffering from credit card debt to pay-off their debt and rehabilitate their credit using options only available to Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies. We work with the creditors to assist the client in finding a solution that will allow them to pay off their debt and improve their credit in five years.

Certified HUD Counseling services are only available through an approved HUD agency meeting all HUD standards. During this time, we are receiving calls from homeowners who are scared they’ve made their last mortgage payment in the foreseeable future. These homeowners, who may have lost hours or jobs, don’t know how they are going to make their next payment. Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Springfield is their lifeline. We assist our clients with all possible work-out programs available.
