Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield Increase its minimum wage to $14 an hour
Springfield, MO. April 27, 2022 In recognition of the hard work and dedication of its front-line staff, Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield is pleased to announce that it is increasing the minimum wage for its employees to $14 an hour. The wage increase will be effective June 1, 2022.
“From the first phase of our Covid response to the post pandemic period and beyond, our front-line staff continue to be an incredible and consistent presence in the lives of our Club members by providing a safe and nurturing environment in very uncertain times. By offering competitive wages, we want to recruit and retain talented, adaptable, and engaging staff who are passionate about building great futures for kids who need us,” said Brandy Harris, Chief Executive Officer for the BGCS.
The leadership and board at BGCS hope to also attract a diverse group of employees who are able to understand and meet the needs of the youth in our community.
Youth Development Professionals, the Club’s front-line staff, will receive a 25% per hour wage increase. Several full-time and salaried positions will also receive wage increases.
