12/5/2022

Better Business Bureau® (BBB®) Serving Eastern & Southwest Missouri & Southern Illinois is honoring six businesses with TORCH Awards and one student with a Student of Ethics Award.

“BBB TORCH Awards recognize companies committed to exceptional service and high ethics,” said Pamela Hernandez, BBB Springfield regional director. “These organizations have truly joined BBB’s mission of advancing marketplace trust in an exemplary way. They are role models for other businesses and nonprofits in the community.”

Steve Savard, news anchor at KOLR10, and Ms. Hernandez presented the awards on Nov. 10 at BBB Springfield’s offices.

Six companies were recognized for their commitment to exceptional business ethics and customer satisfaction:

  • ACIS IT Solutions is a Springfield-based information technology firm providing tech support, infrastructure and cybersecurity services to large and small businesses. “Our clients trust us to manage the lifeline to their businesses. That is an honor that we don’t take lightly,” says Travis Schnelle, president and owner.
  • Bussell Building, Inc. is a family-owned Springfield homebuilder that has erected more than 2,000 homes in the Ozarks region in its 23 years of business. “Trust is the cornerstone of our business,” says Tyler Bussell, vice president.
  • Easy Living, Inc. provides supportive services to adults with developmental disabilities from four Southwest Missouri locations. In business for more than 30 years, the company “holds true to the values of integrity, honesty, and a commitment to success that my parents founded this company on,” says Cindy Smith, vice president.
  • Five Star Painting of Springfield is an interior and exterior painting contractor with more than 600 completed residential and commercial projects to its credit in four years of business. “Trust is critical to our line of work,” owner Doug Windsor says.
  • Rottler Pest Solutions is a household name in pest and wildlife control, serving three states while remaining locally owned by three generations of the Rottler family. "It’s an honor to be recognized for what we do best -- our customer service, and providing our consumer with a unique and personable experience,” marketing manager Sarah Young says.
  • The App Pros is a software development firm based in Springfield and specializing in app creation for small to medium-sized businesses. “We over-deliver and serve our clients as family,” says Bob Allen, president.
