  • Job Summary – Pharmacy Tech III
    • Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Responsibilities include prescription data entry, insurance claims submission, and product selection. Pharmacy technicians present completed prescription to the pharmacist for verification and routinely interact with patients to ensure quality service. Must be team-oriented and have strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills as well as an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Pharmacy Technician III will demonstrate mastery of Technician II competencies and will take a lead role supporting pharmacy services in clinic sites, retail locations, or hospital areas.  This person will maintain the capabilities of sterile compounding, PTCB certification, and all other requirements for job performance.  Must staff majority of time in a sterile compounding role.

    • Education
      • Required: Annual sterile compounding competency CE required annually and within 90 days of hire through current sterile compounding competency program.
      • Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent 
    • Experience
      • Required: Prior Pharmacy Experience
    • Skills
      • By the end of the 90 day period, the employee should be able to demonstrate competency in the following areas:



        • Front End/Over-the-Counter
        • Inventory and expiration date management
        • Cash register fundamentals
        • Direct customer and patient interactions
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Required: Registered with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or technician application in process upon hire.
      • Required: Must possess certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

OR



      • Licensed with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern OR application is in process and full licensure is obtained within 90 days.
