KOLR 10 & FOX 49 in Springfield, Missouri is looking for an Executive Producer to lead the nightside team. We are looking for a creative and strategic leader who is passionate about journalism. You’ll work directly with reporters on story development. You’ll coach producers on showcasing and writing. You’ll collaborate with experienced anchors and meteorologists.

You must be an effective communicator with a positive attitude. You also need to be decisive under deadline pressure. The EP must understand how to cover breaking news and weather, both on television and on digital.

Not only will you get to manage a strong news team, but you’ll also get to live in the heart of the Ozarks. It’s a great part of the country with plenty of outdoor activities and world-class attractions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversight of the rundown and scripts
• Helping with showcasing
• Coaching producers, reporters, and photographers
• Reacting to breaking news on all platforms
• Producing newscasts when needed
• Posting content to all digital platforms
• Managing schedules, conducting performance reviews, and training
• Communicating effectively with news staff, promotions, and production/engineering
• Creating a positive work culture
• Rotating as weekend on-call manager

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree Journalism or the equivalent
• Producing experience
• Excellent writing skills
• Editing video
• Strong news judgment and integrity
• Detail oriented
