NETWORK OPERATIONS SPECIALIST I:
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Manager-SpringNet Network Architecture and Support, performs the day-to-day network configuration, monitoring, and support of Fiber and Ethernet based networks. Configures new SpringNet customers including setting up advanced networking protocols on network interfaces devices (NIDs), switches, and routers. Assists with providing internal end-user support and infrastructure management, including patching, performance monitoring and implementation. Assists with management and implementation of Microsoft Windows domain and applications, including security software for SpringNet network. Employee will provide exceptional customer service by acting as the front-line support for SpringNet enterprise and business network customers to report problems, ask questions, and provide assistance that exceeds customer expectations. Performs all necessary duties to correct and mitigate network issues between the customer and the SpringNet network. Must be able to research, make technical decisions, and implement the best solution for the customer. Must be able to troubleshoot and handle high pressure situations. The employee shall perform other related duties as required or assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required. Exceptional hands-on experience and specific training, including certification in Networking may be considered in-lieu of degree. One year of network administration/engineering and customer-facing support experience is preferred. Network troubleshooting experience and desire to pursue career in network engineering is preferred.
Licensing/Certification:
A networking certification such as, but not limited to, CCNA, CCDA, or Network+ is preferred. This position requires a valid driver’s license (minimum Class F).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Awareness of Ethernet, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
- Effectively handle numerous assignments simultaneously and have excellent oral and written presentation skills.
- Possess demonstrated abilities in meeting deadlines and scheduling of work for timely completion.
- Work courteously with customers, co-workers, and individuals in other departments.
- Exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
- Ability to:
- Quickly learn and become familiar with technical subjects.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and convey technical information in non-technical terms.
- Deal with people cooperatively and effectively and have good telephone skills.
- Work under pressure.

Assists with management and implementation of Microsoft Windows domain and applications, including security software for SpringNet network. Employee will provide exceptional customer service by acting as the central point of contact for SpringNet customers to report problems, ask questions, and provide support services and assistance necessary for competitive business activities. Performs all necessary duties to correct and mitigate network issues between the customer and the SpringNet core network. Must be able to research, make technical decisions, and implement the best solution for the customer. Must be an exceptional troubleshooter and able to handle high pressure situations. The employee shall perform any and all technical work as assigned.

NETWORK OPERATIONS SPECIALIST I, II, and III:
Physical Requirements:
Typically, sedentary work. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and receive detailed information through oral communication. Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, and close visual acuity to operate a computer.
Working Conditions:
Duties are primarily performed in an office environment. Shift work is required.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
Must be able to work successfully with diverse groups of people.
Testing may be required.
