Mechanical Engineer at Lebanon Facility

The Mechanical Engineer studies product blueprints, manufacturing processes, and/or customer specifications to conceptualize the equipment design required to produce a product. Using knowledge of equipment and manufacturing processes, the Mechanical Engineer creates drawings for accurate interpretation of the design and performs auxiliary layouts and detailing activities. 

Key (Essential) Responsibilities:

2. Design and develop mechanical systems and components based on project requirements.

3. Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses (e.g., FEA, FMEA) to ensure the system meets performance and safety standards.

4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, to the customer's satisfaction.

5. Create 2D and 3D CAD Models and technical drawings with BOM for the components and assemblies.

6. Selects commercial components and reviews/develops bill of material (BOM) included in equipment construction.

7. Interprets the project's performance requirements and determines timelines and sequencing.

8. Provide accurate equipment sequence of operations in collaboration with controls engineers to develop timing and device charts.

9. Mechanical systems and functional understanding to support in (on-floor/on-site) de-bug support.

10. Conforms to cost and time considerations estimated for the project.

11. Once the job is completed, the employee is responsible for providing the customer with accurately updated drawings for the final documentation package.

12. Confers with the customer, engineering staff, and project team leaders during the progress of the project and recommends design modifications to equipment malfunctions.

13. Must be able and willing to work overtime when required to meet timelines and workload.

Additional (Non-Essential) Responsibilities:

1. Travels to customer location to evaluate manufacturing processes, assist in installation, or design auxiliary items on site.

2. Performs other duties as required.

3. Demonstrate financial acumen appropriate for this position.


Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

2. 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in industrial automated machine design, analysis, product development, and manufacturing processes.

3. Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

4. Experience with electromechanical systems, robotics, and automation.

5. Experience using simulation software for robots (Fanuc RoboGuide, RoboDK)

6. Knowledge of sensors, actuators, and control systems.

7. Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources.

8. Thorough knowledge of machine tools and assembly of special machines.

9. Thorough knowledge of machine tools and assembly of special machines.

10. Application of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and manufacturing processes.

11. Understanding of costs and production times to manufacture machinery.

12. Experience in computer aided design (design experience with SolidWorks is preferred).

13. Applied math skills using geometry, trigonometry, and standard tool engineering data to develop machine configuration.

14. Experience interpreting specifications, blueprint, and engineering data.

15. Demonstrated creativity and ability to make decisions and meet deadlines.

16. A demonstrated organized, sequential, and practical approach to design is desired.

Primary Location/Schedule:

1. On-site: 1107 Springfield Road, Lebanon MO 65536

2. Full-time, 40 hours per week.

3. Flexibility on start/end time, but must have regular and predictable attendance.

4. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

5. Travel to customer sites as required.
