Law Firm Operations Manager

With more than fifteen attorneys based in Springfield, Missouri, Neale & Newman, LLP, a well-established full-service law firm is seeking a Law Firm Operations Manager to join our team! Position Description
As a Law Firm Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing business functions as well as the overall operations of a law office. In addition to general responsibility for financial planning and controls, personnel administration, and systems and physical facilities, the Law Firm Operations Manager identifies and plans for the changing needs of the organization, shares responsibility with the appropriate partners for strategic planning, practice management, and contributes to cost-effective management throughout the firm.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Financial Management-includes reporting, budgeting, forecasting and payroll.
- Human Resource Management-leads and direct the routine functions of Human Resources including recruiting, hiring, benefit administration, discipline and terminations in accordance with company policy and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Systems Management-includes information services and management, help desk services, systems analysis and operational audits.
- Facilities Management-includes space planning and design, inventory management, purchasing, and responds to maintenance emergencies.
- As a member of the organizations management team, the Law Firm Operations Manager manages and/or contributes significantly to the following:
- Operations/Management- Including strategic and tactical planning, financial reporting, business development, risk management, quality control, organizational development, firm planning processes and other general management functions.
- Practice Management- Legal assistant supervision, work product quality control, professional standards, substantive practice systems, development of spreadsheets, as requested, and other practice management functions.
- Perform additional related duties as requested.
Position Skills and Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong legal and/or other professional service knowledge, previous experience managing business operations such as human resources, technology, facilities, finance and marketing. Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and problems in management and recommend and implement solutions. Can manage office functions economically and efficiently, organize work, establish priorities and maintain good interpersonal relations and communications with attorneys and support staff. Displays excellent supervisory and leadership skills. Demonstrates willingness and ability to delegate. Must have familiarity with and a working knowledge of the Microsoft package.
Bachelor’s degree required. Prior experience in law firm management preferred. Compensation range is between $63,000-$80,000 based experience and qualifications.
