Human Resource Generalist

The Human Resource Generalist will provide comprehensive support across all human resource functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. This role ensures HR policies and practices align with organizational goals and legal requirements while fostering a positive and productive work environment. 

Key (Essential) Responsibilities:

  1. Administer day-to-day HR operations, including employee inquiries and HRIS updates.
  2. Support recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  3. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  4. Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee education.
  5. Handle employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
  6. Coordinate performance review processes and support development initiatives.
  7. Lead development, training, engagement, retention, and well-being initiatives.
  8. Prepare HR reports and maintain accurate employee records.
  9. Contribute to HR projects and process improvements as needed.
  10. It is the responsibility of all employees to be aware of DT Engineering’s quality policy, objectives, guiding principles, and departmental work instructions relative to their position.  All employees have a role in quality and the performance of each employee directly impacts the financial goals of DT Engineering and customer satisfaction.

Additional (Non-Essential) Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate financial acumen appropriate for this position.

2. Performs other duties as required.

1. This position has no leadership responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

1. Manual dexterity sufficient to effectively use computer keyboard.

2. Mobility to go from office to shop environment on a frequent basis.

3. Communication skills to interact with staff members, shop floor personnel and customers.

4. Visual acuity to interface with computer screen.

5. Occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.

6. Tolerance to stress associated with conflict resolution and problem solving


Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. 

Required Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Two to four years of HR experience preferred.
  3. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  4. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
  2. Experience in manufacturing environment.

Primary Location/Schedule:

1. Primary location will be split between our facilities in Lebanon and Springfield. 

3. Full-time, 40 hours per week.

4. Flexibility on start/end time, but must have regular and predictable attendance.
