Facilities Supervisor
As a Facilities Supervisor, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities across various geographic locations. Your responsibilities will span capital planning, budget management, and project supervision, with the added complexity of managing multiple sites.
Essential Job Functions (Other duties may be assigned)
Capital Planning and Projects:
- Collaborate with stakeholders (senior management, architects, and engineers) to develop long-term capital plans for facility improvements, renovations, and upgrades across locations.
- Assess the condition of existing infrastructure at each site, identify areas for improvement, and prioritize projects based on organizational needs and available resources.
- Coordinate and manage the execution of capital projects at multiple locations.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Oversee the operating budget for all facilities, considering the unique requirements of each location.
- Allocate funds appropriately for maintenance, repairs, and capital projects across the geographic portfolio.
- Monitor financial performance and report to senior management on a consolidated basis.
Maintenance, Repairs, and Custodial Services:
- Oversee skilled maintenance workers and custodial staff across different sites, ensuring efficient performance of routine maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep tasks.
- Coordinate schedules for equipment, systems, and building component upkeep at each location.
- Promptly address repair requests and emergencies, regardless of the facility’s geographic context.
- Develop consistent cleaning protocols, schedules, and quality standards.
Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for specialized maintenance, repairs, and upgrades across the portfolio.
- Negotiate contracts, review service agreements, and monitor vendor performance across different locations.
Health and Safety:
- Implement safety protocols and procedures that account for the unique characteristics of each facility.
- Conduct regular safety inspections at all sites and address any hazards promptly.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes relevant to each location.
Space Management:
- Optimize space utilization across the geographic portfolio.
- Coordinate office moves, space allocation, and furniture arrangements as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two to three years related banking experience and/or training.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications and Education Requirements – Senior Level
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in facilities management, including capital planning and budget oversight.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of building systems, codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency in facilities management software and tools.
Required Skills
- Reading and interpreting various documents and policies, writing reports, and communicating effectively and appropriately with colleagues and customers.
- Strong fundamental mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting practical problems.
- Ability to learn new tools, software, and equipment at a fast pace.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- The Maintenance Supervisor works in a variety of settings, including administrative offices, branch locations, mechanical rooms, and exterior grounds. The role involves both office-based administrative tasks and hands-on physical work. The environment may include:
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent movement between bank branches and facilities.
- Exposure to mechanical systems such as HVAC units, electrical panels, and plumbing fixtures.
- Use of ladders, hand tools, and power tools in confined or elevated spaces.
- Fast paced and responsive to urgent maintenance needs or facility emergencies.
- Collaborative interaction with bank staff, vendors, and contractors.
- Varying noise levels depending on task.
- Breaks are allowed throughout the day.
