Executive Director- Least of These

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization, as well as marketing, community outreach and execution of its core values. This position will oversee all paid staff and volunteers at the Pantry. Serves as the Least of These primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the general public.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREAS 

  • Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, communications, and systems; recommends timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals.
  • Oversee food collection and distribution, food warehouse operations and compliance.
  • Assessment of the needs in Christian County for the services provided by the Least of These.
  • Actively engage and energize Least of These volunteers, board members, partnering organizations, and donors.
  • Reporting to and working closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, program development, fundraising, support needed for employees and volunteers and to increase the overall visibility of Least of These with strategic direction.
  • Ensure effective systems to track progress, and regularly evaluate program components, to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the Board, donors, and other constituents.
  • Responsible for public accountability of the organization and implementation of policies adopted by the Board.
  • Propose goals and strategies for growth while being responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget , ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
  • Responsible for fundraising through grants, private sources and developing other resources as necessary to support Least of These mission and long-term sustainability.
  • Oversee Case Management.
  • Recruit, supervise, train and retain high-performing employees and volunteers to ensure the core values are put into practice.
  • Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations along with required reporting to the Ozarks Food Harvest, Government Agencies and etc.
  • Monitor the day-to-day delivery of the programs and services of the organization to maintain or improve quality.
  • Establish and implement donor and volunteer appreciation efforts.
  • Strategically plan and lead management staff for overall supervision of Least of These operational work.
  • Establishing employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the nonprofit.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with partner organizations and utilizing those relationships to strategically enhance Least of These Mission.
  • Prepare the materials for and attend Board and committee meetings.
  • Oversee public relations including the website, media relations and pantry promotional materials.
  • Monitoring progress on neighborhood plan goals, and reporting to the Board of Directors.
  • Acts as spokesperson for the organization’s activities, including speeches and presentations with key partners, elected officials, church leaders, businesses and other civic leaders.
  • Identifies on-going sources for fundraising plans, including materials preparation, grant proposals and reporting, special events, personal contacts and other activities as required while in collaboration with the Director of Development and Community Relations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor Degree, required.
  • Minimum five years management and budgeting experience, required.
  • Previous experience in nonprofit management, preferred.
  • Previous experience in marketing, preferred.
