Responsible for supporting the Chief Communications Officer in executing a strategic communications plan for the Springfield Public Schools' marketing and communications initiatives; producing editorial content for a variety of platforms, including the district’s website, newsletter, select publications and social media. Also ensures timely, clear communication, and meaningful public engagement opportunities for all stakeholders. 

Some essential job functions include:

• Support internal/external communications efforts through the development and production of messages, publications, presentations, and other collateral materials to engage with a variety of audiences, including employees, parents, community, partners, elected officials, etc. 
• Apply strong skills in writing, photography and graphic design to fulfill the role of general reporter by identifying and creating content to tell the unique stories of SPS, its employees and students across all district communication channels.
• Coordinate broad and targeted communication across all platforms used by the district.
• Create and manage the scheduling of social media content for district social media accounts and provide guidance, training and best practices to district social media ambassadors.
