The ATHENA program is all about celebrating, inspiring and advocating for women leaders and the contributions they make to our community. The event, held on March 20, will honor two exceptional professionals and leaders in our community.

• The Virginia Fry Rising Star Award honors a young professional who is already beginning to make a difference. This person will be an emerging leader and mentor in their chosen profession and in the community - someone age 40 or younger who is already beginning to light the way for women leaders.

Nominees must be living and must have provided such service in the Springfield area. Individuals currently serving on the Chamber’s board of directors are ineligible. Nominees for the Rising Star Award must be age 40 or younger as of Dec. 31, 2023.
